The research on coral conservation and illegal trade in Xidao Fishing Village highlights the alarming degradation of coral reefs due to illegal activities. The primary purpose is to raise awareness about the ecological value of coral reefs and the adverse effects of illegal trade on local ecology. The study involved interviewing local vendors, tourists, and fishermen to understand their awareness and attitudes towards coral protection. Findings show a high prevalence of illegal coral sales, despite the awareness of its illegality.
